My youngest female student, Larissa, showed up in class this week with a splint on one of her fingers. Actually, she had recently undergone a surgery and had two metal pins placed through the bone so that the finger may be correctly aligned again.
Larissa was playing indoor soccer when a teenager kind of crashed on her making her fly a few meters before colliding on the floor banging her finger against a bumpy and cracked floor. The result was much pain and a broken bone.
The recovery is slow and demands patience. In the meantime she’s being so tranquil and upbeat that I guess she’ll feel this time going by quickly.
